Piedmont Environmental Council, the folks who have worked to successfully preserve over 300,000 acres of land in Virginia's Piedmont region, just released the EnergySmart Solutions guide designed by Sequoia Design. This pioneering publication focuses on simple, low-cost actions that individuals can take to considerably reduce the energy consumption of their homes. Initially, the guide will be mailed to 70,000 residents of Charlottesville & Albemarle County, with more guides to follow throughout the state.

On the heels of opening their spectacular new visitor's center, Monticellothe home of Thomas Jefferson that sits atop the beautiful hill outside our studio windowhas enlisted Sequoia Design's help to develop a new and refined visual identity system that expresses the unique personality and ideas of Jefferson. In keeping with Jefferson's forward-thinking ways, the new Monticello identity will put a more progressive face on the visual communications for this National Historic Landmark and World Heritage Site, and will be rolling out in the early part of 2010.

Sequoia Design created a new guidebook for The Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership, which chronicles the contributions of African Americans throughout history along the route between Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and Monticello in Charlottesville, Virginia. Entitled Honoring Their Paths, this 250-page guidebook is rich with amazing stories of struggle and triumph, with maps and details for the 100 sites where these unforgettable stories of American history happened.
